Then Education 121 has a professional teacher, or learning facilitator, who can provide personal attention and friendly help.
We are wholly focused on quality care, and education without the pressure. We are committed to ensuring that your child is encouraged and supported as they learn, and that their learning is pin-pointed directly to their needs. We do this in an ‘unplugged’, people oriented, fun and positive, kid-friendly environment that builds confidence and competence. We believe in people teaching your child. Whilst we may access computers as a tool to assist in the teaching and learning process, we do not use them as a computer-tutor.

The Education 121 Tuition program is based on what students need to learn according to the Victorian Curriculum (mapped to the Australian Curriculum) and is linked to their classroom program, where possible. Our experienced teachers know and understand the imperative of working within a sound pedagogical base and making links (where possible) to what the learner is covering at school. After all, academic progress is much more than just being able to complete the task, it is also about building sound social and emotional well-being.
Each tuition session is designed to specifically target your child’s learning needs. After completing a FREE assessment session (approximately 30mins) a summary report will be provided. After enrolment, we will convert the summary report into a Specific Learning Improvement Plan (SLIP).
The SLIP method allows us to carefully consider "where is the student at now?" and "where do we next need to guide them?". In this way our tuition program builds on a development model, rather than a deficit model. We look at what the learner can do and then help them build on their skills and knowledge - making new connections and developing knowledge as they progress.
One FREE assessment is offered to each student. The resulting report is valid for up to 4 weeks, after that time a new assessment is recommended and would be considered as the first tuition session in any given program.
The Education 121 Tuition program is largely run as an individual learning program, but may include group sessions if practical and appropriate for the learner. Each tuition session is made up of 45mins focused tuition, and 10mins forward planning or parent information update.
Our tuition program doesn’t necessarily run to school-term timeframes, as we develop either a 6 or 10 week learning program for your child, depending on their needs.
We highly recommend tuition sessions are attended each week for the duration of the learning plan. Short-sharp, focused and regular sessions are key to a successful intervention program.
The Tuition@121 program focuses on learning development for learners aged 5 years to adult.
As a part of the Tuition@121 program your child will receive a 121 Tuition Pack.
